Safeguarding Office of the Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries in the Holy Land
The role of the Safeguarding Office is to develop and implement a set of policies, procedures, and practices that are in accordance with the Holy See and which will be employed to promote Safeguarding in all Catholic Institutions in the Holy Land and sustaining a safe environment free of hostility, intimidation, neglect, exploitation, bullying, abuse or harassment of all sorts whether verbal or physical; thus, creating a community where all its members live in dignity as they are created in the image and likeness of God, where they all share the common responsibility of protecting all individuals especially children and vulnerable adults.
Safeguarding Coordinator
The Safeguarding Coordinator will develop a master Safeguarding Policy and a master Code of Conduct that will apply to all Catholic Institutions in the Holy Land, after which, the Safeguarding Coordinator will assist these institutions in adapting them according to their line of work and interactions with children and vulnerable adults. The Safeguarding Coordinator will also be providing appropriate support and guidance on Safeguarding incidents, recommending the proper method of approach depending on each case and offering solutions as well as conducing Safeguarding training sessions through which the participants are aware of their rights and responsibilities and commit to the Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct and understand key Safeguarding principles, and the reporting procedures.

- Advisory and consultations on Safeguarding matters and concerns.
- Conducting training and awareness raising.
- Providing support and guidance for addressing allegations of misconduct.
- Establishing reporting mechanisms and handling of allegations procedures.
- Developing Code of Conduct guidelines for the protection of minors and vulnerable adults.
- Ensuring that all Catholic institutions and Congregations are committed to the Safeguarding policy and procedures and are implementing them correctly.
